Pet owners will tell you one of the jobs they most dislike is cleaning up the back yard after their four legged friends have made their daily deposits. One new business has offered to undertake this less than desirable task and, as part of their pet care services, will ‘scoop your poop’, leaving your yard clean – and safe – to enjoy!
The newly established Sunshine Coast business aims to provide local pet owners with exactly what they are looking for in providing a happy healthy home for pets and people.
Emilia’s Home & Pet Care will offer an in-house service of pet care and pet minding. For very reasonable prices, your pet can be fed, walked or just given some companionship, while their owners may be busy or away from home.
The business services the Sunshine Coast, between the areas of Maroochydore to Pelican Waters. It is to be run by Manuel, an animal lover and brother to Emilia, the owner of Emilia’s Home & Pet Care, which was initially started in NSW.
Manuel moved to QLD from NSW in need of a lifestyle change. He had previously worked in construction for 18 years, but an unfortunate series of work-related accidents and a car accident made it physically impossible for him to continue to work in construction.
The idea to branch the business out and have Manuel in charge of the clients in the QLD area, was initiated by both Emilia and Manuel. It centered on their love for animals and Manuel’s love for the outdoors and physical activities.
"I was encouraging Manuel to get into pet minding, especially following his accidents, because it’s not really a full-time job and it gives him the chance to be outdoors, active and spend time with animals, which he loves," Emilia said.
Emilia’s Home & Pet Care is popular in NSW, operating in the Wollongong area since 1999. It has a strong clientele base, based on a reputation as a trustworthy and reliable business. Emilia feels her business offers a much more ‘personal’ service than sending the pets to boarding kennels.
"I perform a much more personal service, by minding my clients pets in their familiar home environment”, Emilia said. “The pets feel much more relaxed and happy being in their own backyard, which is very important, especially for older animals."
Emilia’s Home & Pet Care doesn’t discriminate when it comes to animals. Although they care mainly for dogs and cats, they love all animals and have cared for birds, chickens, fish, rabbits and guinea pigs, amongst others.
Emilia and Manuel also offer their clients home security, while their clients are on holidays. They will bring in the bins, water plants, collect mail and check for anything suspicious; all the little things that can provide house security for the clients. This is especially important with the festive season approaching, and for families who want to ensure that their home and pets will be safe whilst they are on holidays.
"I’m very excited about the establishment of the business here on the Sunshine Coast," Manuel said, "I’m know that with summer holidays approaching, I am going to be very busy taking care of people’s pets and homes. I love animals, and have enjoyed working with my sister in learning to provide only the best care for them."
